Position Overview

The Senior Finance Manager serves as the critical link between our customers, sales/marketing team, manufacturing, and engineering, providing financial guidance throughout the business.

The position is an on-site position in Battle Creek, MI.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to monitor operating results, performance against budget and prior year, and other matters dealing with the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the facility.
  • Prepare monthly financial summaries for the President. Includes expense audits to budget/forecast and reviewing variances with management teams to support the goals of the business.
  • Manage the local general ledger and account reconciliation process, including processing adjusting journal entries and preparing balance sheet reconciliations in line with IFRS requirements and the Accounting Manual of CA.PICARD International.
  • Ensure that internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively.
  • Responsible for fixed asset accounting, including capital project reviews, asset capitalization, and the physical inventory of fixed assets.
  • Accountable for inventory management, ensuring that the plant's inventory controls are adequate, reconciling inventory balances monthly, identifying overage and aging material issues, and coordinating periodic physical inventories.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and variance analysis on costing activities.
  • Responsible for AR/AP and general operational purchases.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Prefer an Accounting Designation (CPA, CMA)
  • Require a strong background in finance and accounting (5+ years)
  • Prior controllership experience
  • Confident handling of accounting standards according to IFRS
  • Previous practice in manufacturing/Inventory management principles.
  • Strong analytical abilities with knowledge of standard cost, costing, and accounting systems are required.
  • Working knowledge of company Accounting and Control Policies and Procedures.
